ENVIRONMENTAL PLANNING

1: Scope

Lack of consideration to the scope of works upfront is the biggest cause of delays to approving projects. The scope of works is important because:

  • it affects what approvals could be required,
  • it affects the assessment of impacts,
  • only those activities covered by the scope are approved by the SER,
  • a poorly worded scope may restrict what activities can occur,
  • late changes to the scope may require re-notifying council and having to wait an additional 21/40 days.

You should also attach the design drawings for the works and confirm any works that are not included in the scope.
